Join us on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 for our next Science Salon: Virtual Reality in Architecture, Science and Art at the Walter Library with Ds. Vicki Interrante and Dan Keefe from the University of Minnesota Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Dr. Interrante will summarize recent and historical research from her lab that attempts to resolve problems that users face when applying virtual reality technology to architectural design. Dr. Keefe will discuss how he and his team collaborate with artists, scientists, engineers, doctors, and humanists from across the University of Minnesota to invent and creatively employ virtual simulation to address challenges in data representation, digital design and human-computer interactions.
Check-in begins at 6 p.m., with cookies, networking and the option to demo virtual reality technology. At 6:30 there is a tour of Dr. Interrante's lab, and the talks start at 7 p.m. Around 8, there is an optional tour of Dr. Keefe's lab (a 5-minute walk from the library).
